Funky Chunky BraceletEcoChic Fairtrade gets the Vogue treatment

In this month’s Vogue, EcoChic’s funky chunky bracelet got the fasionista’s seal of approval.

VogueIt's fantastic to be recognised from these style leaders, but it’s even better to be able to pass this praise on to the producers of the bracelet, the Yakanaka ladies from Zimbabwe, see our suppliers page.

As well as our partnership with Yakanaka and thirty other suppliers working in the developing world we are delighted to be working with LA Jewellery, producers of elegant, organically inspired silver jewellery created with respect for the environment with strong ethical working practices, nestled in the heart of Wales. www.ecochicfairtrade.co.uk/silverjewellery

  EcoChic - The Reason

EcoChic SuppliersWe are delighted to be working will such skilled artisans, this is because, at EcoChic Fair Trade we believe in sharing; sharing with you our range of stunning limited edition Fair Trade & ethical collections and sharing with our suppliers in the recognition their products deserve. It’s a win-win situation!

We are a Sussex, UK based business and our suppliers are skilled artisans working within Fair Trade and ethical practices, here in the UK and around the world. We hold a passion for Fair Trade and ethical practice in business and are inspired by true quality craftsmanship techniques that have been passed down for generations, that are both sustainable for future generations and work in harmony with the environment.

At EcoChic we campaign to promote that what we wear and consume can be both stylish and ethical, made in a just way that gives people an ability to support themselves in dignity, is kind to our planet and respects the traditional skills of artisans, so that families can stay together and communities can grow. We believe, that stylish, beautiful products do not need to harm those producing them, but can instead create positive changes to peoples lives whilst protecting our planet.

Our founder is Deborah Miarkowska, a part time lecturer in Public Health, at the University of Brighton who is passionate about the difference Fair Trade makes to the lives of millions of farmers, workers and their families in the developing world and is also developing partnerships with UK businesses who adopt ethical & environmental practices in their own working environments.

‘We are inspired by the beauty of handmade products from skilled craftsmen and want to nourish and support this, both in the developing world and here in the UK”. For us at EcoChic ‘It’s all about supporting marginalised groups to trade and not aid in the developing world, nourishing true craftsmanship, building on communities, so that families can grow and stay together, both here in the UK and in the developing world”.
