The Sussex Fair Trade Network present: A Film Showing: Black Gold

Wednesday 7th May 2008 5.30pm- 8.30pm , University of Brighton, Ringmer House 125, (Small Hall), Falmer, BN1 9PH, to include a Fair Trade Market.

World Fairtrade Day:

Saturday 10th May 2008, Friends Meeting House, Brighton, East Sussex, 12-5pm  

We are delighted to announce that Our Ethical Network, the Sussex Fair Trade Network and Cred Jewellery are teaming up to put on an all-day event for World Fair Trade Day 2008 to include stalls, speakers and ethical business networking!

Midday - 2.30pm - Fair Trade stalls and information stands

3-4pm - speaker event ‘All that glitters’* raising awareness of the social and environmental issues surrounding gold and diamonds (going beyond conflict or blood diamonds) and the route towards fair trade accreditation that Greg Valerio of Cred Jewellery has been spearheading.

Greg will be talking about his experiences to date and what future he sees for fair trade gold and diamonds; he will also be joined by another key speaker from the fair trade world (TBA). A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

4-5pm - ethical business networking session - to be continued in nearby pub (TBA!)

The event is free but donations to cover costs will be gratefully accepted.
